Review: 20 Shade Concealer Palette

Current Location: Bed
Current Health: Ughhhh
Current Cure: Tea by the bucket load

So far my flu-like state has held me to my bed since Friday, in the busiest month that I have had in a very long time. My March has/will consist of: my college RAG week, all my major essays/assignments due for college and the beginning of my makeup course! I'm so excited to commence my course with The International Makeup Academy as I feel it will benefit me and my blog so much. I'll be qualified to do what I love most :D When I finish my course (early Summer) I will work as a makeup artist and hopefully have a lot more makeup tutorials to present to you all.

Now to the post..

I spoke about this little gem in my last post and it was also on my Instagram (@pookybanana). It seems nowadays contoured faces are all the rage and it's no surprise. Everybody wants that sculpted, flawless look and palette's like this are the answer. The one I am going to review is the 20 shade concealer palette that I bought on eBay for a measly €6!

Excuse the appearance of discolouration, the plastic covering reacted badly to flash!

This palette consists of 12 contour shades and 8 skin corrector shades, so there's something for everyone and you can always mix the shades too.
Here's the contour creams:

Here are the 8 correcting concealers:

In case you didn't know,  the green is to cover redness, the varying shades of pink and peach are for undereye bags, the beige and deep brown are for coverage and the white is a highlight. If you do not have dark skin you may want to use the brown for your eyebrows. If you do have dark skin you may want to use a bit of the beige colour as a highlight on your cheek bone.

It's hard to review these concealers as a whole because some of them seem to be creamier than others and I have no idea why. The creamier ones melt in your finger and adhere perfectly to the skin but for a few of them I had to keep swirling my finger round and round to get any decent colour payoff. For some, even that wasn't enough. In the swatches, notice how the green comes out a whitish colour. The green was the most disappointing shade of them all.

First 2 rows of contour colours:

Last row of contour creams:

All of the correcting concealers:

The creams apply well over my foundation and blend seamlessly. They also blend into each other beautifully, so you can contrast a highlight shade and a contour shade without a harsh line. They are best applied with your fingertips as the warmth helps to melt the creams but they can also be applied with synthetic haired brushes. I do not recommend natural haired brushes as they will absorb most of the product. As for the cheap, plastic sponge applicators that are provided, forget them! They also absorb the colour and they're too small to use for contouring cheeks or blending.

Thankfully, my face powder doesn't seem to alter the pigmentation. For a nighttime look, I recommend using one of the darker shades under the cheek bones and on the sides of the nose so it will come out on camera. Use the white on the brow and cheek bone for an effective highlight on nights out.

Overall, I like this palette and it's great value for money. It cost me just €6, had free delivery and was here within 2 weeks! The packaging is cheap, light plastic and is too big to be handbag friendly but that's clear to see before you buy it. It would be great for someone building their kit. I have acne-prone, sensitive skin but this hasn't caused me breakouts or irritation and it actually has a "blur" effect on top of my foundation, drawing attention away from any troublesome areas.

I would recommend this palette as I think it's great for what you're paying and there is so many shades. It's just unfortunate that a few of the creams are a bit drier than others and the green is the only real disappointment. But for €6 can I really complain?

I give it a good
